Locus' TrackIQ (Formerly MotionTrack) is capable of collecting precise GPS coordinates either through the mobile app (LOTR) or via a GPS device on the vehicle, which can later be used on any web- based application.

How accurate are the speed and geofence alerts?

Speed and geofence alerts are calculated based on live GPS coordinates either from a mobile device or an onboard GPS device on a vehicle. The accuracy and effectiveness of these parameters is reliant on the accuracy of data received from these devices. On an average, the accuracy of such a device falls between 20 metres and 100 metres.

How often can I access the location of my fleet?

In case of GPS data being collected from a third party GPS device, the frequency of the update is dictated by the frequency at which the third party GPS device pings the vehicle's location coordinates to Locus. If the data is being collected through the Locus on the Road Mobile Application/ SDK, the location collection is real time.

Can I see a demo of the application before I buy?

Does the Locus solution work on iPhone, Android, and tablets?

Yes. Our LOTR application is compatible with both iOS and android and also works on tablets. However, Locus' route planning dashboards are accessible only on a desktop.

For how long will my data be stored on the system?

In case of TrackIQ (Formerly MotionTrack), we store the data based on the data retention clause in our contracts with clients.

Is Locus fleet tracking a real-time solution?

Does mobile tracking require any special handset? Would it run on our existing smart phone?

This can be measured if the vehicle has an onboard hardware device that can be connected to Locus, using APIs. Furthermore, Locus can help generate alerts based on threshold breaches.

We do release updates periodically, but don't worry, these will not hamper your operations.

Yes. Locus has the capability of sending out custom-made reports.

Can I check my vehicles' previous/past movement history?

Yes. Location tracking only works when the rider using the Locus mobile app turns on the GPS during drop/pickup. It can be turned off, if a client chooses to.

Does the GPS track an employee's location when the employee is off or on a break?

The LOTR app starts tracking an employee only when he/she logs into the system. No tracking happens once the person logs out or marks themselves 'unavailable' on the app.

What happens if my employee turns off location services while they’re clocked in?

You will get a 'Location Missing' alert after a certain time threshold. The threshold value can be configured by the client.
